Moma Library Catalog

Moma Library Catalog - It is also a profound historical document. The effectiveness of any printable chart, whether for professional or personal use, is contingent upon its design. The universe of the personal printable is perhaps the most vibrant and rapidly growing segment of this digital-to-physical ecosystem. If it detects a risk, it will provide a series of audible and visual warnings. Sellers create pins that showcase their products in attractive settings.

I came into this field thinking charts were the most boring part of design. This requires the template to be responsive, to be able to intelligently reconfigure its own layout based on the size of the screen. All of these evolutions—the searchable database, the immersive visuals, the social proof—were building towards the single greatest transformation in the history of the catalog, a concept that would have been pure science fiction to the mail-order pioneers of the 19th century: personalization. Indigenous art, for instance, often incorporates patterns that hold cultural and spiritual significance. I started to study the work of data journalists at places like The New York Times' Upshot or the visual essayists at The Pudding.
